NOU (pronounced, new) is a first generation Hmong American — pulling musical influences from her roots, along with 90s/2000s American POP and R&B, country and broad way musicals. She's an independent artist from Detroit who grew up listening to Brandy, Monica, Aaliyah, TLC, Britney Spears, Shania Twain, Ciara, Beyonce, Gwen Stefani & many more. Her latest influences are Jhene Aiko, Rihanna, Janine and Lana del Rey to name a few. NOU is set to release more singles and her first EP in the near future.
